@vschaffn FYI: I split the old "Background" page into "Mission", "Funding acknowledgment" and "People behind xDEM" and, together with the pages you wrote "License" and "Authors", indexed them under a single parent page "Credits and background" that shows all sub-pages of this topic in a drop-down menu.
This should make it easier to navigate for users, and shorten a bit the left index menu of the documentation!
