Terms and Definitions

• Symbol: A unit of belief.
• Belief: If the map is not the territory, then belief is the cognitive process that justifies how much a map represents a territory.
• Influence Operation: Deploying symbols that alter the beliefs or the psychosecurity capacity of an actor.
• Psychosecurity: An actor's capacity to resist establishing beliefs from symbols.
• Actor: An entity that generates and reacts to symbols. (Biological, mechanical, electrical, or otherwise)
