There's likely some tweaking still to do, but the RO/RSS config is now mostly working. The drogue chute and ballute both work, although they may need tweaking for effectiveness.
Solid de-orbit unit works, and has a plume, finally. I went with a smallish plume, rather than that giant thing they have in stock. RealPlume removes stock plumes, then adds it's own. The "add it's own" step must have not been targeting the system. Adding a specific plume was always my intention though. So I added the Solid_Vaccum at size x 0.3. That makes this the first engine in this mod to get an actual RP config. I'll need to check colours before moving on (and possibly fixing this one).
Ascent stage separation is still hairy as hell. I've dropped decouple force to zip, but there's still explosions.

Fixed up the amazing disappearing deorbit engines. A few tweaks here and there. De-Orbit engines still not getting the full fuel load for some reason. Chutes may or may not be working.
Rebuilt colliders for the ascent engine and the interstage decoupler. Going to test with a much lower decoupling force, as it usually still explodes.

A test RO + RSS update that has a lot of things working. Chutes are being weird still, deployment doesn't seem to activate until full deployment. The game effect on physics seems to be there, but it's like it's not linking to the animation properly, so there's no visible sign of the chutes being there. Until full deployment, where it pops into existence.
There's probably quite a few other issues

Many of the core parts have now been redone with either new meshes, new textures, or sometimes, textures for the first time. This version will also be released on spacedock, with extraneous old parts removed and textured DDSified.

There's enough parts using the rotated (back to sanity) frame of reference that you can actually build a MEM again. This by no means suggests the part revamp is done. In fact the Lab is the latest updated part and it's not done. But, you can now build a MEM, which you couldn't using the revamped parts at all before.
