Docking Revision
Revised docking nodes (slightly).
Accumulated Bugfix
Texture updates, Some work on the Mission Module, IVA, and custom bulkheads. Includes fix for interstage collider
Plumey fix and MM progress
Fix to the RealPlume MM config such that it properly NEEDS RealPlume, rather than being FOR RealPlume with NEEDS SmokeScreen. I've also removed reference to SmokeScreen as it's a depends from RealPlume anyway. Thanks @jsolson for the heads up.
There's also ongoing progress on the WIP Mission Module sections, although mostly just with the modelling, config still very lacking.
So begins the IVA
The EEM is basically done until I need to do the tunnel to the Mission module. This now has a very Beta mission module and some supporting parts.
Earth Entry Module
The first of the parts needed to build the full 1968 interplanetary plan from NASA. This is the Earth Entry Module, used to return the intrepid explorers to Earth. The shape is from Northrop reentry vehicles used for um, unmanned reentry vehicles, and was decided on for it's increased tolerance for high velocity entry. The idea being it wouldn't need any capture burn, just reenter direct from Mars transit. In KSP so far, it's a wild ride, but yes, it seems to deal OK with high V entries.
Done-ish
Most of the parts at least have their own texture now. There's some work to do on re-doing the whole MEM encasement and how that attaches to the mission module. And, for that matter, the mission module. I'm finally looking at this and realising it's heavily integrated into the first part of the shell around the MEM. So that frame and shell pieces will all change fairly drastically soon I think. They are still usable as is for now. But they will need updating to avoid serious daftness once there's an MM.
Texture on the cargo parts is still lame. It's blocked in at best.
Progress on docking nodes
Docking nodes are now "complete". They're retextured, and rejigged to be compatible with Cobalt's BDB apollo/kane docking nodes.
The passive end of the probe/drogue set is the one that should go on the craft, if following real world expectations, but feel free to flip that around. It works either way.
Lots of testing by driving spaceframe mounted docking nodes around with rovers was required for this, as I kept stuff things up.
DockingNodeRevamp
Updated mesh and some basic texturing on the Apollo style docking node.
Out with the Props
Shifting the duplicated props assets from ModPods out to their own mod, and pointing the IVA references at those.
Solids are Back
This release should be basically working except there's DeltaV issues with ascent module in RO
