This add-on re-implements the tab bar from desktop we all love, on Android tablets, on Firefox. It has all the familiar buttons like back, forward, reload and new tab. You can scroll the list of your opened tabs, you can close or duplicate tabs, just like on desktop
- Download Firefox Nightly from Google Play
- In Firefox Nightly settings, open About Firefox Nightly
- Tap the Firefox logo on that page 5 times, the advanced options appear
- Go back to see all settings
- Under Addons, select Your own Addon collection
- Paste the following for user id: 15613358 and for collection name: Android-compatible-addons-by-J

v2.5 fixed inconsistent tab ordering when a user duplicates a tab
Previosly the correct order of tabs, with the newly duplicated tab being to the right of the original tab, was only shown on that newly duplicated tab. On all other tabs, the newly duplicated tab was shown at the end of the tab list.
Now it all works correctly and consistenly, the newly duplicated tab appears to the right (is the right neighbor of) the original tab on all tabs, is inserted at the correct index.
v2.4 fixed full screen video on m.youtube.com with tab bar position top
Previously when users set the tab bar to appear on top, the video as well as some Youtube player controls were not visible on screen.
This fix applies to Youtube and every other website which makes video fullscreen by resizing the (position: absolute
) <video>
element to fit the whole screen. Because Youtube sets position: absolute
on the video, it gets pushed off screen with the transform: translateY(50px)
hack that the tab bar uses to shift the page down, to not overlap the page content.
The tab bar detects that the webpage is in full screen mode using the fullscreenchange
event. Then it sets the transform property to an empty string, resetting it. Youtube makes the HTML <body>
the full screen element, instead of the <video>
. If it simply made <video>
the full screen element (requestFullscreen()), instead of positioning it absolutely and setting the width and height to the display's height, this fix wouldn't be needed.
v2.3 fixed three user interface bugs:
- Settings were not applied to the first loaded tab (basically the tab was loaded before the storage was read)
- Tab order was not always consistent (basically TabOrderModifications were not sent to every tab like they should have)
- The selected style was not always applied to the active tab (due to tabs being drawn async because getting favicons)
v2.2 SHIPPED FAVICON SUPPORT (those little pictures you see in the screenshot)
v2.0 Added settings and customization for users
