User Stories for Lab 6
After school, a high school student loves to scroll through the 3Design app, exploring fresh 3D models and creative posts. With headphones on, he gets completely absorbed in the app’s content, tuning out everything around him. The app’s endless, visually appealing feed feels like a journey into his favorite art and tech worlds.
Today, as he scrolls through page after page, he doesn’t notice the busy street he’s walking along. But just as he reaches the end of the page, the app’s pagination feature requires him to pause and swipe to the next page. This small break in scrolling brings his attention back to his surroundings, just in time to notice the crosswalk ahead and stop before stepping into traffic.
Relieved, he’s grateful for the design that momentarily halted his scrolling, giving him a second to reorient himself in the real world.
Each week, a group of high school students gathers in their school’s computer lab at 4 PM for a 45-minute 3D modeling club session. These students, enthusiastic about digital design, use this brief window after classes to focus on their shared passion for 3D modeling. Given their limited time and busy school schedules, they rely on the platform’s easy navigation to dive straight into categories like “Vehicles” and “Characters” without delay. The clear, organized design helps them get to content quickly, maximizing their short time together.
As they scroll through the feed, the students enjoy exploring different models, comparing designs, and leaving feedback for one another. Each post opens on a separate page, allowing them to view detailed models and comments. If they find a post interesting, they click to view it in detail, and thanks to the Different Page for Every Post feature, they can return to their exact place in the feed once they’re done. This smooth, back-and-forth navigation is crucial in their limited timeframe, as it prevents them from losing their place and wasting time re-scrolling.
Together, these UX features—intuitive navigation, smooth back-and-forth browsing, and supportive competition—make each club session engaging and productive. The students leave inspired, looking forward to seeing their rankings and trying new modeling techniques the following week.
