These two pages are very similar topics so I'm proposing to combine them:

This pull request includes modifications to several documentation files related to cross-chain messaging and interoperability. The key changes involve the removal of the "cross-chain-message" entry from the _meta.json file, the deletion of the cross-chain-message.mdx documentation, and updates to the message-passing.mdx file to enhance clarity and detail. Additionally, extensive updates to the _redirects file reflect a reorganization of documentation paths, improving the structure and accessibility of related resources.

Changes

File Path Change Summary
pages/stack/interop/_meta.json Removed key-value pair for "cross-chain-message".
pages/stack/interop/cross-chain-message.mdx Deleted file containing documentation on cross-chain messaging and asset transfers.
pages/stack/interop/message-passing.mdx Updated content for clarity, changed section header, added details on transaction types, and included a new illustration.
public/_redirects Updated multiple redirect paths to reflect a restructured documentation organization.

    • I pushed a fix in commit <commit_id>, please review it.
    • Generate unit testing code for this file.
    • Open a follow-up GitHub issue for this discussion.
  • Files and specific lines of code (under the "Files changed" tab): Tag @coderabbitai in a new review comment at the desired location with your query. Examples:
    • @coderabbitai generate unit testing code for this file.
    • @coderabbitai modularize this function.
  • PR comments: Tag @coderabbitai in a new PR comment to ask questions about the PR branch. For the best results, please provide a very specific query, as very limited context is provided in this mode. Examples:
    • @coderabbitai gather interesting stats about this repository and render them as a table. Additionally, render a pie chart showing the language distribution in the codebase.
    • @coderabbitai read src/utils.ts and generate unit testing code.
    • @coderabbitai read the files in the src/scheduler package and generate a class diagram using mermaid and a README in the markdown format.
    • @coderabbitai help me debug CodeRabbit configuration file.

Note: Be mindful of the bot's finite context window. It's strongly recommended to break down tasks such as reading entire modules into smaller chunks. For a focused discussion, use review comments to chat about specific files and their changes, instead of using the PR comments.

32-32: Adjust image alt text capitalization.

The alt text should use sentence case according to the documentation guidelines.

Pattern **/*.mdx: "ALWAYS review Markdown content THOROUGHLY with the following criteria:

  • Use proper nouns in place of personal pronouns like 'We' and 'Our' to maintain consistency in communal documentation.
  • Avoid gender-specific language and use the imperative form.
  • Monitor capitalization for emphasis. Avoid using all caps, italics, or bold for emphasis.
  • Ensure proper nouns are capitalized in sentences.
  • Apply the Oxford comma.
  • Use proper title case for buttons, tab names, page names, and links. Sentence case should be used for body content and short phrases, even in links.
  • Use correct spelling and grammar at all times (IMPORTANT).
  • For H1, H2, and H3 headers:
    1. Use sentence case, capitalizing only the first word.
    2. Preserve the capitalization of proper nouns, technical terms, and acronyms as defined in the 'nouns.txt' file located in the root directory of the project.
    3. Do not automatically lowercase words that appear in the 'nouns.txt' file, regardless of their position in the header.
  • Flag any headers that seem to inconsistently apply these rules for manual review.
  • When reviewing capitalization, always refer to the 'nouns.txt' file for the correct capitalization of proper nouns and technical terms specific to the project.

🔇 Additional comments (5)
pages/stack/interop/message-passing.mdx (4)

1-9: LGTM! Frontmatter and imports are properly configured.

The description accurately reflects the content, and necessary components are imported.

11-16: LGTM! Introduction and callout provide clear context.

The text maintains a professional tone and appropriately warns about the development status.

20-28: LGTM! Clear explanation of cross-chain message requirements.

The technical requirements and transaction types are well-explained with proper formatting.

Line range hint 38-89: LGTM! Comprehensive explanation of the messaging process.

The technical details, diagram, and phase descriptions provide a clear understanding of the cross-chain messaging system.

public/_redirects (1)

118-119: LGTM! The redirects align with the documentation restructuring.

The new redirects appropriately handle:

  1. Moving superchain-erc20 content to a more logical location under interop assets
  2. Redirecting cross-chain message documentation to the consolidated message passing page

This ensures a smooth transition for users accessing the old URLs.

@sbvegan just a few thoughts:

  1. We'll need to replace this line in the next steps section since the page won't exist anymore.
  1. Along those lines, there are other pages linking to the anatomy of cross chain message page, such as the main interop explainer, so we'll need to catch those links and get them updated.
  2. Wondering if the use case section could benefit from some links, for instance, could we link Token transfers and bridging to the Superchainerc20 explainer? And maybe link Cross-chain state synchronization to op-supervisor explainer (or to somewhere else if it makes better sense)?
