Before the color blending and lerping was done using 1..255 integers.
That meant that either we choose a speed that basically instantly changed the colors, or they would never change because the deltas would always round to zero.
This is a much nicer implementation anyway, using a mutable class instead of immutable records; it also uses doubles so we can do a smooth transition.
