Every October, Digital Ocean and GitHub ship out free Hacktoberfest shirts to thousands of people around the world.
This year, Dev.to has also partnered with them to organise the same.
The bottom line in 2019 is this: if you can open 6 pull requests by October 31 .
You can get your own Hacktoberfest T-shirt, and tons of stickers shipped to your door for free.
Go to hacktoberfest page to register using your github account.
- Just visit our repo here.
- Add a folder in your name.(click create new file,add your name with a slash at the end).
- Create a Readme.md file with your details in it(click create new file, add Readme.md as the name no back slash).
- Example : click create new file (To keep things clean, try to do it inside the 2019 folder). Enter "2019/yourName"/README.md in the name. Add your content into the folder/file.
- Mark Down - md cheat sheet.
- Click propose new file.
- Click create pull request.
- You can edit the file you created and make a pull request for that too.
- Just open your file in github and click on the pencil icon , then make the change and repeat step 4.
