Bootsplash was not showing with bochs coreboot fb. Missing under #1851 was:
CONFIG_BOOTSPLASH_CONVERT_RESIZE=yCONFIG_BOOTSPLASH_CONVERT_RESOLUTION="1280x720"Needed under #1850 for video ccapture of prod related qemu testing (so everything heads not platform specific can be shown under qemu as it would on prod machines)
