These were the steps I used to get Miniature set up and running with the Qt SDK.

1. Get the Qt SDK
* http://www.developer.nokia.com/Devices/MeeGo/
* http://www.developer.nokia.com/info/sw.nokia.com/id/da8df288-e615-443d-be5c-00c8a72435f8/Qt_SDK.html

2. Install the Qt SDK
* Select custom installation type,
* Enable all of the experimental options.

3. Get Miniature sources
$ git clone [email protected]:miniature/miniature.git

OR (if you have no ssh access to gitorious):
$ git clone git://gitorious.org/miniature/miniature.git

Make sure there is no debian folder in the clone, otherwise Qt Creator will
complain later.

The debian folder is a git submodule, but the Qt SDK needs to use its own
packaging setup. Which means: If you only develop within the Qt SDK, you don't
need this submodule.

4. Open the Miniature project within Qt Creator
* Make sure it's the Qt Creator version from the installed Qt SDK (only applies
  if you had Qt Creator installed previously).
* Qt Creator will ask whether to add the packaging info, say "no". It will also
  complain about the tests having no install targets, but that's fine and can be ignored.

5. Set up the N950 as a deploy target
* Go to "Tools" => "Options" => "Maemo"
* In the "Maemo Device Configuration" tab, "Add" a new configuration. This
  starts a wizard. I conveniently named it "N950". Select Harmattan/Hardware
  Device, the device's host IP address should be 192.168.2.15.
* Follow the next steps in the wizard to set up SSH access (easiest was to
  connect the N950 via USB; you get the password from the SDK Connection app on
  the N950).

6. Configure the build options
* Go to the "Projects" view.
* Use "MeeGo 1.2 Harmattan API (Qt SDK) Release" as build configuration
  (probably needs to be added first; I don't know the differences between the
  build configurations, but this one worked).
* Add "CONFIG+=enable-gui CONFIG+=enable-madde-support" to the qmake's build
  step, in the "Additional arguments" field.
* Disable shadow builds (avoids issues with out-of-tree builds, patches
  welcome).

7. Configure the run options
* Click on the "Run" tab in the Harmattan labelled box at the top. Actually,
  make sure that you only have this one Harmattan box there, you won't need
  anything else.
* It only knows a "Deploy to device: QEMU" option by default, which is of
  course not what we want. Open the "Details" view and select "N950" (which we
  created in step 5).

If you installed Miniature from other sources than the Qt SDK, then it is
recommended to uninstall that Miniature version first.
