+Auf dem [IAML Kongress in Cambridge im vergangenen Jahr](/publications/iaml-congresses/2023.html){:blank} kündigte die RISM-Zentralredaktion eine Möglichkeit für unsere internationale Gemeinschaft an, die RISM Serie C, das Verzeichnis der Musikforschungsbibliotheken, zu aktualisieren.

+Das Verzeichnis ist in der Zielsetzung des RISM verankert, die Standorte von Musikquellen weltweit zu dokumentieren. Die Serie C enthält Beschreibungen der besitzenden Institutionen, seien es Bibliotheken, Archive, Museen, Kirchen oder Privatsammlungen, sowie aller Institutionen, die über Materialien verfügen, die die historische Musikforschung unterstützen. +At the [IAML Congress in Cambridge last year](/publications/iaml-congresses/2023.html){:blank}, the RISM Editorial Center announced an opportunity for our international community to update RISM's Series C, the Directory of Music Research Libraries.

+The Directory is anchored in RISM's objective to document the locations of musical sources worldwide. Series C provides descriptions of these holding institutions, whether libraries, archives, museums, churches, or private collections, as well as any institution with materials that support historical music research. Each institution in Series C has a RISM siglum, or an abbreviation, that makes it possible to concisely refer to the institution.
