The Roboy Project is a not-for-profit moonshot enterprise aiming to create robots as good as the human body. In pursuit of this goal in the past five years, we grew from a single guy with a vision into a transdisciplinary, transnational team of engineers, researchers, entrepreneurs, students and collaborators. We have designed and developed two full-size tendon-driven humanoid robots and taught them to hug thousands of people, sell ice cream and drive the rickshaw among many other things. This was, however, only the beginning... As our team matured, the attained goals grew too. We currently aim to win the ANA Avatar XPRIZE – a $10M global competition for building a telepresence system that lets you experience remote places without having to go there.
We open-source all of our advancements and believe it's extremely important to do so in robotics development - a field with high entropy level. We are building a vastly complex technology that is fast evolving. With your support, we will make it accessible to broader public through releasing more packages (ROS, debian, docker), improving documentation and, of course, our code!
