Steps to Create Sudoku or Puzzle in Penpa

Here you can find a non-exhaustive list of Sudoku and Puzzle Types you can create in Penpa+.
- Click on "New grid / Update" button and set the Board type: "Sudoku" and then click on "New grid". Click on "Yes, Reset it" popup.
- Select Edit: Problem (Shortcut: press "F2")
- Select Mode: Sudoku
- Select Sub: Normal
- Select Style: Black Color
- Enter your given digits into the grid.
- Enabling Answer Check and Selecting User Preference Mode
- Select Edit: Solution (Shortcut: press "F3")
- Select Mode: Sudoku
- Select Sub: Normal
- Select Style: Blue Color
- Enter your solution digits into the grid.
- Click on "Share" button
- Provide some puzzle info (Optional but Recommended)
- Give some Title (e.g. Classic Sudoku (Theme - Boxes))
- Add author name
- Add rules
- If you are trying to create a puzzle from some other source then please provide the Source URL to credit the origins.
- Click on "URL with answer check / Extra Options"
- Under "AND" column, select the "Number-Normal, L, M, S - Green, Blue, Red" checkmark.
- Click on "Generate URL with answer check" button.
- Click on "URL_short" button.
- Press "CTRL+V" to paste the link and click on "Shorten".
- Copy the shortened URL and Save/Share it.
- Click on "New grid / Update" button and set the Board type: "Square", Set your grid size in "Rows:" and "Columns:"
- Click on "New grid". Click on "Yes, Reset it" popup.
- Select Edit: Problem (Shortcut: press "F2")
- Select Mode: Number
- Select Sub: Tapa
- Select Style: B (Black)
- Place your tapa clues into the grid
- Enabling Answer Check and Selecting User Preference Mode
- Select Edit: Solution (Shortcut: press "F3")
- Select Mode: Surface
- Select Style: DG (Dark Grey) or Black
- Shade the solution cells
- Click on "Share" button
- Provide some puzzle info (Optional but Recommended)
- Give some Title (e.g. Tapa (Theme - Square))
- Add author name
- Add rules
- If you are trying to create a puzzle from some other source then please provide the Source URL to credit the origins.
- Click on "URL with answer check / Extra Options"
- Under "AND" column, select the "Shading - Dark Grey, Black" checkmark.
- Click on "Generate URL with answer check" button.
- Click on "URL_short" button.
- Press "CTRL+V" to paste the link and click on "Shorten".
- Copy the shortened URL and Save/Share it.
- Click on "New grid / Update" button and set the Board type: "Square", Set your grid size in "Rows:" and "Columns:"
- [Optional] Some may prefer dotted grid lines, in that case set "Gridlines:" to "Dotted Lines". Note - If you have already generated grid with solid lines and started placing clues, you can update your gridlines by using "Update display" button and without resetting your entire grid.
- Click on "New grid". Click on "Yes, Reset it" popup.
- Select Edit: Problem (Shortcut: press "F2")
- Select Mode: Edge
- Select Sub: Normal
- Select Style: Black
- Draw your regions by dragging your mouse over edges
- Placing Numbers
- Regular Nanro:
- Select Mode: Number
- Select Sub: Normal
- Select Style: Black
- Start placing numbers in the grid
- Nanro Signpost:
- Select Mode: Number
- Select Sub: Corner (Image with 1 2 3 4 in the corners)
- Select Style: Black
- Start placing numbers in the grid
- Regular Nanro:
- Enabling Answer Check and Selecting User Preference Mode
- Select Edit: Solution (Shortcut: press "F3")
- Select Mode: Number (One can also use Mode: Sudoku if the numbers range is 0 to 9)
- Select Sub: Normal
- Select Style: Green Color or Blue Color
- Place the solution digits
- Click on "Share" button
- Provide some puzzle info (Optional but Recommended)
- Give some Title (e.g. Nanro (Theme - LOL))
- Add author name
- Add rules
- If you are trying to create a puzzle from some other source then please provide the Source URL to credit the origins.
- Click on "URL with answer check / Extra Options"
- Under "AND" column, select the "Number-Normal, L, M, S - Green, Blue, Red" checkmark.
- Click on "Generate URL with answer check" button.
- Click on "URL_short" button.
- Press "CTRL+V" to paste the link and click on "Shorten".
- Copy the shortened URL and Save/Share it.
- Click on "New grid / Update" button and set the Board type: "Square", Set your grid size in "Rows:" and "Columns:"

- Place your shapes into the grid (You can select in Panel or use keyboard shortcuts 1,2,3...)
- [Optional] - In case you need to use some shading, Select Mode: Surface
- Enabling Answer Check and Selecting User Preference Mode
- Select Edit: Solution (Shortcut: press "F3")
- Select Mode: Line
- Select Sub: Normal
- Select Style: Green Color
- Draw the Loop by dragging your mouse from center to center of the cells.
- Click on "Share" button
- Provide some puzzle info (Optional but Recommended)
- Give some Title (e.g. Masyu (Theme - Square))
- Add author name
- Add rules
- If you are trying to create a puzzle from some other source then please provide the Source URL to credit the origins.
- Click on "URL with answer check / Extra Options"
- Under "AND" column, select the "Line - Green, Double" checkmark.
- Click on "Generate URL with answer check" button.
- Click on "URL_short" button.
- Press "CTRL+V" to paste the link and click on "Shorten".
- Copy the shortened URL and Save/Share it.
