Mirza Waleed is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Geography at Hong Kong Baptist University, specializing in geospatial data analytics, cloud computing (Google Earth Engine), and AI-driven modeling for flood hazard management. As a Google Developer Expert in Earth Engine and visiting scholar at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), he applies high-performance platforms like Shaheen and Google Earth Engine to advance flood risk assessment and environmental monitoring. His work integrates remote sensing, machine learning, and big data analytics to develop innovative, data-driven solutions that contribute to resilient, informed disaster management. With a focus on urbanization impacts, climate resilience, and predictive modeling, Waleed is dedicated to enhancing geospatial science and fostering community resilience through cutting-edge research.
